Help identifying an old Hobart generator welder?
I rescued an old Hobart gas drive welder from the scrap yard. The name plate was removed and as a result I don't have the spec number needed to order a manual or wiring diagram for it.
Can someone help me identify it. It is a 300 amp AC/DC welder with a 220 volt and 115 volt generator. It has a local/remote switch on the panel (which is missing by the way). The engine, a 4 cylinder Willy's Jeep motor runs fine, the generator produces no AC power nor welding power.
If I can identify it, I can figure out how to wire the missing switch back in place, not to mention troubleshoot it and get it running.
Someone responding to my request for help has tentatively identified this as a Hobart G-3010. However the docs I obtained for that model show a six cylinder Chrysler slant six engine and not the Willy's 4 cylinder Jeep engine which is what mine has.
Pictures can be seen at: http://www.compusos.com/hobart_welder/
Thanks for any help,
Tony
The G-3010 is definitely a 6 cylinder model. I am almost positive that you've got either a Hobart G-200 or G-250.
