Is a black anodized aluminum heatsink really any better than an anodized silver colored heatsink?
Wrt ability to dissipate heat.
With respect to ability to dissipate heat, under normal convection. What about surface geometry, anybody have insight as to what type of geometry works best (pin, thick fin, thin fin)?
Yes. The radiant capacity is higher.
Most of the heat is dissipated by convection at lower
temperatures though, and the difference might not be
worth the expense.
