Toxic Heavy Metal - Aluminum
Toxic Heavy Metal: Aluminum
Aluminum
Although aluminum is not a heavy metal, it is available in consumer products and household items. Studies suggest that aluminum might have a possible connectionwith developing Alzheimer's disease. Aluminum toxicity affects the central nervous system, kidney, and digestive system.

Workers in refineries, foundries, welders, grinders, automobile and aircraft industries.
Aluminum toxicity symptoms and disorders: Alzheimer's disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, anemia, behavioral problems, bone brittleness or osteoporosis, conjunctivitis, constipation, dementia and other neurological brain disorders, cavities, colds, colitis, eczema or dry skin, flatulence, headaches, heartburn, hemolysis, kidney dysfunction, leg twitching, leukocytosis, liver dysfunction, memory loss, muscles – weak and aching, neurotoxicity, numbness, osteomalacia, paralysis, Parkinson's disease, perspiration – excessive, pneumoconiosis, porphyria, senility, spleen pain, stomach pain, upper airway irritation.
Metals accumulate in the human body through air, water, food, soil and skin absorption. Heavy metal contamination is an extremely serious problem. Over time these heavy metals continue to slowly accumulate and the body's immune system can only withstand so much saturation by external toxins over time. Toxins must be eliminated faster then they enter the body, otherwise the buildup can eventually reach toxic and dangerous levels.
Metals are common in our environment and diet and some are actually necessary for good health, but large amounts of any of them may cause acute or chronic toxicity. In small quantities, certain heavy metals are nutritionally essential for a healthy life, including trace elements; iron, copper, manganese, and zinc. These elements are commonly found naturally in fruits and vegetables or supplements.

Vegetable garden help!?
Okay, I gardened when I was younger with my grandpa, but honestly I forgot some of the tricks of the trade. Yesterday my husband and I planted a garden... We live in the country so we put up fencing around it to keep the rabbits out... No what do we do to keep the birds out of it????????? Someone told me aluminum pie plates will keep the birds out, is this true? Also, although we live in the country, we have city water, which has chlorine. I was told to absolutely NOT water my garden with the city water, and to collect rain water in a bin. Is this true? Any other tips would be appreciated.
we have corn, tomatoes, peppers, zucchini so far
Thank you guys, I guess I just thought the birds would eat my plants!! I guess it makes sense though, they are probably just eating bugs and worms
You're already on your way! What you learned from Grandpa will come back when you need it. Even if there is chlorine in the city water, use it anyway because you won't be able to collect enough rain water to supply all your needs. Use rainwater instead of city water when available.
You may not have problems with birds. They tend to go after fruit on trees primarily. In fact, birds in the veggie garden are good because they eat the bugs that eat our plants. They are a vital part of Nature's balance. So rejoice that you have birds knowing they are a sign of a healthy organic garden.
